Experimental operation

1) Demonstrate a circular wave

Fix the single vibrator on the vibrating plate, turn on the power switch, and the instrument will enter the working state. By vibrating up and down the vibrator, a circular wave image will appear on the screen.

Adjust the vibration frequency knob according to the experimental needs. When the vibration frequency is the same as the light source frequency, the water wave is in a static state on the screen; when the vibration frequency is greater than the light source frequency, the water wave is in a diffuse state on the screen; when the vibration frequency is less than the light source frequency, the water wave is in a state of diffusion. It is in a contracted state on the screen; if the projection of the water wave is not clear, the amplitude screw can be adjusted until it is clear.


2) Demonstrate the diffraction of waves

After adjusting the circular wave according to the above method, place the two baffles in a line about 20mm from the center of the vibrator. The distance between the two baffles is close to the wavelength, and a significant diffraction phenomenon can be seen. distance, different diffraction phenomena can be seen.


3) Demonstration of two-vibrator interference waves

Fix the double vibrator and adjust it according to the above method to see the obvious interference wave image.


4) Demonstrate plane waves

Fix the flat vibrator and adjust it according to the above method, so that the lower edge of the vibrator is parallel to the horizontal plane, and the intersection should be fully moistened, otherwise the image will be slightly curved.


5) Demonstrate the reflection of waves

Place the straight baffle at a 45° angle in front of the plane wave, that is, to see the image of the plane reflected wave. By adjusting the angle of the baffle, you can see different reflected images.

Maintenance and precautions

1. Do not fill the water tank too much, so as not to overflow and damage the internal circuit.

2. After the instrument is used, pour out the water and let it dry, loosen the locking screw of the connecting rod, put down the movable connecting rod, cover the dust cover or put it back in the box.

3. The instrument should be placed in a cool, dry place without corrosive gas, and avoid heavy pressure and collision.
